June 2005

President's Communication

As my year as MSEA President ends, June will be my last meeting as president. I can report that MSEA had an excellent year, your officers, directors and committee chairs served you well! Our membership is almost at 400 again and the membership committee under the leadership of Rick Hillsbery showed great enthusiasm and were innovative holding orientation meetings and member follow ups. Education under George Pan met the needs of our CPE requirements, again with enthusiasm and hard work. Public Awareness with Tom Chun in command did fine work. By Laws with Rosemary Hernandez great efforts now are up to date with CSEA requirements. Our monthly programs with Sal Salazar in command were excellent, educational and enjoyable staying away from commercial offerings. Treasurer Randy Warshawsky displayed great energy in preparing our budget and keeping your board updated. Also completely redid our website and name badge program. Both of our CSEA directors, Mandy Bamdad and Rosemary Hernandez, attended CSEA meetings and kept us well informed. Our secretary Ted Danen, never one to brag about his efforts so I will tell you that his work every month for this society is priceless, we all owe him a great debt of gratitude for all that he does. Our two satellite groups, Palo Alto coordinated by Robert Hearn and Monterey by myself are integral parts of Mission Society and all members are urged to attend their functions. Thanks are due to the other officers & board members for stepping forward as needed such as Norma Foss Chair Ethics & Professional Conduct, Vilo Nisonger Awards, CTEC representative Joe Salazar, Scholarships and monthly newscard Dorothy McGinley, Support Groups Martin Lowe, EA Exam Class Coordinator Ilse Beck. Finally your 1st Vice Myra Thompson, 2nd Vice Karen Fihn and Immediate Past President David Hatt always willing to help and always available!

My sincerest thanks for your efforts and support and best wishes to the new officers and board for 2005/2006
