Position: The Cantabile Chorale, an adult chorus, has an immediate need for a part-time accountant/bookkeeper, to be engaged as an independent contractor. The accountant is responsible for meeting the ongoing accounting needs of the Chorale, including maintaining accounting controls and financial records; ensuring effective and efficient operation of accounting systems; and producing financial reports and such information as is necessary to meet state, federal, and grantor reporting requirements. It is expected that an average of approximately 2-3 hours time will be required per week (5%-7.5% FTE), with less time required in the summer and more in the periods immediately preceding and following the three regular concert series (generally, December, March, and June) and at the close of the July to June fiscal year. Compensation is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: BA/BS in accounting, business administration, or related field, with at least five years’ accounting experience, familiarity with non-profits, and proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office software. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Punctual and professional work ethic. Working from a home office or other location is required.
