Past President, MSEA & Immediate Past President, NAEA


David Hatt, EA is awarded the Life Time Achievement Award on January 19, 2010.

David rose through the ranks of MSEA to President making a lot of changes on his way. He is now the immediate Past President of NAEA.

David has done a lot for MSEA and he deserves this recognition

Professional Associate Member 2007-2009


James Joined MSE as a Professional Associate in November of 2007, and shortly thereafter joined the Membership Committee. He is an active committee member with great ideas and insight.

James made many of our new member and guests feel welcome when attending their first meeting. He's also an active recruiter for the organization, talking to non-member EAs and other tax professionals about the advantages of belonging to MSEA at every opportunity.

Since joining MSEA just under two years ago, Don Walter, EA has this year become involved in the Education Committee and agreed to take over the PIA when the prior chair had to resign. Since he did not have a lot of time in PIA the decision was made to run the movie ads again this year.

For 2009-1010 Don will have a lot more time to plan for the use of the PIA money. He will probabbly become even more involved with MSEA as time goes forward.

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is given to recognize an Enrolled Agent whose efforts over the years have contributed toward the enhancement and/or improvement of Enrolled Agents and/or Mission Society of Enrolled Agents. You must have been a member of MSEA for 10 or more years to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Eligibility
Any Member of MSEA in good standing is eligible to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be given to an Enrolled Agent who since becoming an Enrolled Agent has contributed significantly to the enhancement and/or improvement of the status of Enrolled Agents in general and/or the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents. The award is based solely on volunteer efforts.

Enrolled Agent of the Year Award

This award is given to recognize an Enrolled Agent whose efforts have contributed toward the enhancement and/or improvement of Enrolled Agents and/or Mission Society of Enrolled Agents.

Eligibility
Any Member of MSEA in good standing is eligible to receive the Enrolled Agent of the Year Award. The award will be given to an Enrolled Agent who during the prior and current MSEA fiscal year has contributed significantly to the enhancement and/or improvement of the status of Enrolled Agents in general and/or the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents. The award is based solely on volunteer efforts. Members who have acted in concert may be jointly nominated and will be considered one nomination.


Rookie of the Year Award

This award is given to recognize an Enrolled Agent of two years or less, whose efforts have contributed toward the enhancement and/or improvement of Enrolled Agents and/or Mission Society of Enrolled Agents.

Eligibility
Any Member of MSEA in good standing is eligible to receive the Rookie of the Year Award. The award will be given to an Enrolled Agent who during the prior and current MSEA fiscal year has contributed significantly to the enhancement and/or improvement of the status of Enrolled Agents in general or the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents. The award is based solely on volunteer efforts. Members who have acted in concert may be jointly nominated and will be considered one nomination.


Booster of the Year Award

This award is given to recognize a volunteer that is not an Enrolled Agent whose efforts have contributed toward the enhancement and/or improvement of Enrolled Agents or Mission Society of Enrolled Agents.

Eligibility
Any person who is not an Enrolled Agent and not an employee of the Society's is eligible to receive the Booster of the Year Award. The award will be given to a person who is not an Enrolled Agent who during the prior and current MSEA fiscal year has contributed toward the enhancement and/or improvement of Enrolled Agents and/or Mission Society of Enrolled Agents. The award is based solely on volunteer efforts. People who have acted in concert may be jointly nominated and will be considered one nomination.


How to Make a Nomination

Please use this Nomination Form (Adobe PDF). Each Member of MSEA may place a nomination. There is no limitation on the specified efforts and achievements that may be cited. Generalities should be avoided so the actual merits of the contribution may be weighed. Nominations must be submitted on the form that is on the web site. Nominations may be submitted by fax to (408) 551-6584, mailed to the MSEA office or e-mailed to office@missioneas.org. Nominations need to be received in the office by May 1st.

Nominations need to be received in the office by:

  • May 1st for EA of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Booster of the Year.
  • November 1st for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Award Presentation
The Enrolled Agent of the Year Award, Booster of the Year Award, and Rookie of the Year Award, if bestowed, will be presented at the June meeting in San Jose. The Lifetime Achievement award, if bestowed, is presented at the December meeting in San Jose.
